From the day Henrietta booked me for their wedding, I knew this was gonna be a very special day. She told me a lot about her and Carin, about their personalities and their life together. So I went into this day knowing it would be relaxed and easy-going. But my expectations were outdone. From the moment I sat my foot in the hair saloon where both of them were getting ready (in separate parts, so they wouldn’t see each other before their first look, how cute is that?) I felt like a friend with a camera. Meeting Carin, who I hadn’t had any contact with before the wedding and feeling her warmth and nervousness about wearing a dress, something she never does. And how amazing she looked after putting that black dress on. How she was practically amazed by herself. All while Henrietta was all bubbly nervous, happy and gorgeous, surrounded by her beautiful sisters.
From that, through a wonderful first look, to karaoke in the car, to portraits and smoke bombs and crashing my drone into a tree, to a fantastic ceremony in a fantastic church (where I tripped over seven chairs and made the whole ceremony stop for a second), amazing song performances in the church, to a best man popping the confetti canon right down on his feet, arriving to the reception in a helicopter, more smoke boms and then finish off with a dinner with heart warming speeches, a saxophonist, a magical first dance and I party I will never forget. I have never before (or after) seen so many people dance at a wedding party. Like, literally, EVERYONE danced. And there where shoes hanging from the roof.
From that day on Carin and Henrietta are my friends. They have been models at mine and Michaela Zabels workshops, they have been to a great party at my house and we write each other almost every week. From clients to friends. Friends for life. I love them.
